CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) –As the Head Coach of UVA’s collegiate swim team for seven years, there will be many faces amongst Team USA’s Paris 2024 top competitors whose talent Todd Desorbo is quite familiar with. He will a USA Womens’ team that has taken shape after events in Indianapolis have concluded. It consists of some of the 2024 Olympic Trials’ best performers, many of whom have already swum for UVA.

Kate Douglass won 3 finals in the pool at Lucas Oil Stadium, the 200-meter breaststroke, the 100-meter freestyle, and the 100-meter IM. Paige Madden added runner-up finishes in the 200-meter and 800-meter freestyle. Emma Webber finished 2nd in the 100-meter breaststroke. Rounding out the notable performances were the Walsh sisters, Alex and Gretchen, Alex placed 2nd in the 200-meter individual medley, while Gretchen placed 2nd in the 50-meter freestyle and won the 100-meter butterfly final with a World Record time of 55.18.

The five Cavaliers who made Team USA for the Paris Games will compete in 11 events, with more possible in the relay races.
