CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) Virginia junior infielder Henry Godbout, a second-team All-ACC selection this past season, was selected by the Boston Red Sox in the second round of Sunday’s 2025 MLB Draft.

Godbout, a New York native, started all 50 games for the Cavaliers this past season, batting .309 with eight home runs and 37 RBIs. In three seasons at UVA, the 6-foot-2, 190-pounder hit .321 with 20 home runs and 122 RBI over 157 appearances.

Godbout is the 152nd Virginia player to be drafted in program history and the first this year. Rounds 4-20 of the draft will begin Monday at 11:30 a.m.

Former UVA star Henry Ford, who is transferring to Tennessee, is likely to hear his name early Monday.
