CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) –UVA swimmer Gretchen Walsh has been named the 2024 ACC Mary Garber Award winner.

The award is dedicated to the ACC female student-athlete of the year. Walsh is the third Cavalier given the title, joining Dawn Staley (1991, 1992) and Morgan Brian (2015).

Walsh has three individual NCAA titles with record-setting times in the 50 free, 100 free, and 100 fly.

She will compete in the 2024 Olympics in the 100 butterfly and 50 freestyle, after she set a world record in the 100 fly semifinals with a time of 55.18.
