Charlottesville, VA (cvillerightnow.com): Four Virginia wrestlers have received bids in the 2025 NCAA Championships. As a squad, Virginia finished 6-6 in the regular season, but there will be two returners along with two first timers in the NCAA championship matches representing the Wahoos. The big weekend will be in one week, beginning March 20th and running through the 22nd from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.
The returners are Dylan Cedeno, who has earned his second bid this year at 141 after participating in the 2021-22 season, and Nick Hamilton who will go the tournament for the second straight year at 165. Cedeno, seeded #11, will take on Drexel product Jordan Soriano (#22), in his opening match. Hamilton #25 at 165, will battle Cameron Armine of Oklahoma State first.
Kevyeon Roller and Jack Gioffre will make their debuts in the NCAA tournament this year. Roller is seeded #26 at 125 and will battle #7 Troy Spratley of Oklahoma State. Gioffre, #29 at 149, will take on Paniro Johnson of Iowa State.
