Charlottesville, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW): ITA Sectionals came to an end in Chapel Hill, North Carolina on Sunday, and as the dust settled, three more Cavaliers on the UVA Women’s Tennis team punched their tickets to Texas later this month to compete in the NCAA Championships.  The championships, in Waco, are being hosted in the fall for the first time ever.  All Annabelle Xu had to do was reach the semifinals of the singles draw to secure her place in the draw in Waco.  The third year did just that, winning her first three matches before withdrawing from the semifinal. Senior Elaine Chervinsky needed to win the playoff match between 5 and 8 on Sunday after dropping her quarterfinal match against the top seeded player in the tournament, she took the playoff in three sets.  The last Hoo to earn a ticket was freshman Martina Genis Salas, who competed alongside Xu in the doubles draw.  The pair made it to the semifinals, lost, but smashed out a hard fought playoff victory to secure an invite to the championships.  Sara Ziodato was also competing in the doubles draw, but crashed out alongside Meggie Navarro.  Ziodato already earned her spot in the singles draw last month though, finishing runner-up at regionals.  The championships will be played beginning November 19th and running through the 24th in Waco, Texas.
