Knoxville, TN (Cvillerightnow.com): Virginia Swimming Star Gretchen Walsh set another American record last night at the Tennessee Invitational in Knoxville.  The Hoos entered the competition last night in the lead as a team when the first individual event began.  Walsh wasted no time at all, why should she in one her best events, the 100 Meter Butterfly?  With an incredible mark of 47.35, she surpassed the American, US Open, UVA, NCAA, meet and pool records for the 100-fly, as well as her own best mark of 47.42. Thanks to race wins from Claire Curzan and Leah Hayes, and stellar finishes up and down the roster, it was another great evening for the Virginia Women.  They are in front after two days of competition over both Kentucky and Tennessee, with the meet concluding later today.  On the men’s side, the Hoos are behind by 102 points to Tennessee, but lead Kentucky by 56 points, also with one more day of the meet to go.
