Charlottesville, VA (cvilleirightnow.com): A recent solid run of form for the Cavalier Women has come to an end at home against one of the top offenses in the nation, the Florida State Seminoles. The Hoos dropped last night’s contest to the Noles to the tune of 101-68, causing UVA to fall to 12-12.
The Hoos showed what has brought them recent success in spirts throughout the game, shooting 55% from the floor in the second quarter, and outscoring the Noles 25-18 in the fourth. Paris Clark continued her solid streak of performances, notching 16 points and five assists, freshman Breona Hurd chimed in with 14 and nine rebounds, and Kymora Johnson, still under the weather, still found a way to put up 16 points, along with six assists, and eight rebounds.
The FSU offense though, was just too much to handle, outscoring the Hoos 26-9 from the jump, and a whopping 34-12 in the third to put the game out of reach before the fourth quarter even began, ensuring the Hoos would fall to 12-12 on the year. Looking ahead, the good news is that UVA’s next opponent has fallen to them already, as the Hokies look for revenge after the Hoos won at Cassel Coliseum earlier in the season. Tip-off is at noon this Sunday at John Paul Jones arena, and you can listen to every play here on Cvillerightnow.com, courtesy of Newsradio WINA.
