Charlottesville, VA (cvillerightnow.com): National #11 Virginia Women’s Lacrosse earned a huge win last night against a dangerous opponent, the #9 Maryland Terapins.  Sonia LaMonica’s unit earned their tenth win of the year by a score of 13-9.  In doing so, the Hoos were able to snap a 15-game losing streak against the Terps, winning against them for the first time since 2008.  The Virginia offense stayed strong and confident coming off their awesome senior day performance against Louisville, second-year attackers Jenna DiNardo and Addi Foster combined for seven goals between them, and second-year midfielder Kate Galica chipped in with three more.  Third-year Mel Josephson staved off a solid offensive performance from the Terps, making nine saves, including some crucial stops in the fourth quarter to hold Maryland scoreless for the last seven minutes of the match.  The Hoos will stay on the road and head to Newton, Massachusetts to take on #2 Boston College this Saturday at noon.  You can watch along on ESPN U.  One final home game remains against Virginia Tech on April 16th.
