CHARLOTTESVILLE (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Charlottesville City Schools has at least one other entity it’s competing with to purchase the Federal Executive Institute property… the University of Virginia. UVA’s Board of Visitors has called a Tuesday special meeting to, among other things, consider the purchase of the property the government is offloading after a President Trump executive order closed the federal government facility down in February. UVA submitted its application for purchase last Monday and a meeting agenda item says the feds could make the decision of a buyer this coming Monday. The board Tuesday will decide on acquiring the property if UVA is successfully chosen.

The board resolution does not outline what the University intends to do with the property, but CCPS Wednesday said they want it to house a centralized preschool and division administration offices.
