Charlottesville, VA (cvillerightnow.com): #25 Virginia Softball went off in another offensive masterclass yesterday evening at Palmer Park, beating the Radford Highlanders 6-0. Junior righthander Eden Bigham picked up her 12th win of the season with four strong innings of work while striking out two and walking only two on two hits. Macee Eaton notched the Hoos first run on an RBI fielder’s choice in the first. Two innings later, two doubles pushed three more runs across for Virginia from Bella Cabral and MC Eaton that brought the lead to 4-0 Virginia. Kailyn Jones smacked a sac fly in the fourth and Sydney Hartgrove added one more run with a single in the fifth to bring the score to its final mark, 6-0. After Jade Hylton recently bested Sara Larquier’s career homerun record days ago against Syracuse, another one of the legendary Virginia infielder’s career marks is about to fall. Larquier stands 2nd all-time in program history at 54 RBIs, standing 2 behind her is Macee Eaton, currently on 52. A good weekend against Louisville will likely see her take sole possession of second place from Larquier. Game One first pitch is at 5:00pm on Thursday night at Palmer Park in Charlottesville.
