Charlottesville, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW): It’s safe to say that Nick Dang has had a memorable first season on Grounds after coming over from Lipscomb to play Center Back for the University of Virginia. In a season that started out rough for the Hoos, Dang has been an instrumental figure in helping them turn their results around, scoring six goals, mostly with his head, to lead the team in scoring. That feat is doubly impressive considering his primary position as a defender. Dang is no slouch fulfilling his primary function either, his contributions have helped a Virginia defense average only one goal allowed per game, good for second in the ACC. His efforts have been recognized an awarded by the ACC, his name was announced as a member of the All-ACC second team yesterday afternoon. Dang and the Hoos look to continue their stellar run in the ACC tournament this evening against 5th seeded Wake Forest on the road, a team they drew with earlier in the season, as UVA hunts a spot in the ACC title game. Kickoff is at 5:30 on the ACC Network.
