CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – UVA Move-in 2024 has begun through Friday. Though it looks like we’re getting a break from the usual August move-in weather, according to a 25-minute video on the UVA website for UVA families, the University advises it’s hard and hot work and make sure they hydrate. UVA Housing urges families to bring their patience, and be kind to each other as well as keeping hallways clear so everyone has space to work.
Traffic will be heavy along Emmet, University, Alderman, McCormick and other streets around Grounds and first-year dorms. Families who unpack are asked to move to one of the longer-term parking lots… such as Central Grounds garage… after unpacking vehicles before they set to work setting up the rooms. A number of activities will be held over the weekend for ample student bonding opportunities before classes begin Tuesday. Click here for all the Move-in information.
