Charlottesville, VA (cvillerightnow.com): The UVA Men’s Golf Team had their first-round action suspended yesterday due to high winds! Regional Play for the Hoos began yesterday evening in Reno, Nevada to start their NCAA tournament run. Before the wind picked up, most teams in the field had completed the first seven holes of the course. The official came to suspend play around 9:15 ET. Action has resumed this morning.
The Hoos are currently tied for third with Duke, BYU, and Texas. Tied for the lead were San Diego and Mississippi State at the point of suspension in Round One.
The UVA Women’s Golf team punched its ticket to the NCAA Championships in Carlsbad after a sterling regional performance at Birdwood this past week. The Cavalier Women commence play this weekend on the West Coast.
