Charlottesville, VA (cvillerightnow.com): The Virginia Men’s Lacrosse team has begun to collect a share of preseason accolades in advance of their season commencing on February eighth.  Midfielder Griffin Schutz and close defender John Schroter were announced as members of the preseason all-ACC team yesterday.  This is the second all-American nod for Schutz, who comes off a season in which he notched 12 assists and scored 23 goals.  He sits at 10th all time on midfielder points in UVA history, and looks to raise his total from 105 with another strong performance this year.  While in defense, Schroter forced 17 turnovers and collected 28 grounds balls during a 2024 season that saw him start all 14 games at close defense.  Schutz and Schroter are two instrumental pieces of the squad that made the top three of the 2025 preseason Coaches Poll in the ACC.  We will just what kind of year the pre-season all ACC members have on February eighth, when they begin their campaign with a noon match against Colgate.
