CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) — UVA Health announced Wednesday morning that its two pediatric clinics in the Harrisonburg area will be merging into a new location and forming one larger clinic.

Pediatrics Harrisonburg, at Medical Avenue in Harrisonburg, and the nearby clinic on Spotswood Trail in McGaheysville will consolidate their services and move into a bigger building at 4165 Quarles Court in Harrisonburg, which will open its doors on Aug. 31.

The new clinic will provide regular checkups, immunizations, physicals and treatment for more serious concerns like sudden illness and injury care, mental health services, and chronic illness treatment, among other services.

“We are excited to combine these two clinics and bring them to a modern, newly renovated facility that is designed to be patient-friendly, accessible and thoughtfully expanded to support the growing demand for care and enhance the patient experience…” UVA Physician’s Group Chief Operating Officer Becky Compton said in a statement in UVA Health’s press release.

Adult and pediatric hand therapy services will also be on offer in the new building.

All patients seeing providers at either clinic will be able to continue regular visits at the Quarles Court location.

“By bringing our providers together in one location, we can better serve children and families through coordinated, compassionate care while also growing the resources we provide to the community,” UVA Health pediatrician Dr. Jon Tomei said in a statement.
