CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – UVA Health is launching a new mobile care van to bring healthcare services directly to local residents with limited access to medical care. UVA Health care providers will be able to provide general check-ups, chronic disease management, pediatric care, women’s health, and lab testing. Patients will be able to schedule appointments but walk-ins will also be accepted. Regular visits are planned for the Fifeville and Southwood neighborhoods twice a month. The initiative received $347,060 in federal funding to purchase and equip the van.
