CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Virginia head football coach Tony Elliott said he’s proud of the way Tony Muskett and Anthony Colandrea handled the starting quarterback competition both before and after the decision was made to start Colandrea this coming Saturday. Elliott in his weekly game-week press conference said the 2nd-year Colandrea is young and known as kind of a “gunslinger”, but he’s demonstrated improved decision-making. He said he also has asked around the team because the quarterback decision is a “program decision”. Elliott says while Colandrea will run out on the field first against Richmond, they’re going to need both to win football games and they’re expected to continue to compete every single day.
