MIDLOTHIAN, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – As the Men’s European Soccer Championship nears its end, the Women’s tournament, coming next year, is wrapping up its qualifying matches, and UVA sophomore goalkeeper Victoria Safradin has been called to take part in her native Croatia’s bid to qualify for the tournament.
She was named to the 28-person squad for two qualifying matches against Ukraine and Wales. Safradin will join the team in Zagreb before heading to Karlovac to face Wales on the 12th, and Skopje to face Ukraine on the 16th. Going into July’s matches, Croatia leads its group on 9 points.
Safradin and UVA Women’s Soccer will begin its 2024-25 season at home vs Tennessee on August 7th, at 7pm.
