Round Rock, Texas (cvillerightnow.com): Virginia Baseball heads to Texas for the Round Rock Classic this weekend, for three games against three tough opponents in the Oregon State Beavers, Minnesota Gophers, and Oklahoma Sooners.
There has been a change to the schedule due to oncoming inclement weather, and the Hoos’ first game against Oregon State will now take place at 5:00 PM rather than the previously advertised 7:00 PM. We will still present radio coverage of the game with Adam Hawes on Newsradio WINA and here on Cvillerightnow.com. The Beavers are 4-0 on the season.
The games against the Gophers and Sooners will take place on schedule, 1:00 PM on Saturday (Pre-game coverage at 12:45 on WINA), and Oklahoma at 4:00 PM. The Oklahoma game will be an online only broadcast though, available here on Cvillerightnow.com.
The Hoos went 2-1 last weekend while in Ponce, Puerto Rico, for the Puerto Rico challenge. They lost in the 11th inning against Michigan, 5-4, but beat Villanova 3-1, and Rice, 7-0. The starting pitching rotation, with Jay Woolfolk, Bryson Moore, and Tomas Valincius, will remain the same for the upcoming series in Texas.
