CHICAGO, IL (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – University of Virginia baseball has announced an agreement for the company that makes their protective gear — such as helmets, leg, and elbow guards — to make their uniforms. Chicago-based EvoShield has been making uniforms in their Tennessee plant for Division 2 baseball teams as well as the Savannah Bananas. UVA is one of the seven programs in last season’s college World Series to enter agreement as among the first teams wearing EvoShield unis in Division 1.
Head Coach Brian O’Connor says the company will design and manufacture 7 different uniform looks for unveiling at the American Baseball Coaches Association annual conference in January.
