FLUVANNA COUNTY, VA (CVILLERIGHTNOW) – Phone service for Fluvanna County’s 911 and non-emergency lines has been restored, according to an update from the Emergency Communications Center.
Brightspeed, the service provider, identified and corrected the issue as of approximately 4:00 p.m. Wednesday. Landline calls to 911 should now be functioning properly. Communications officers have ceased monitoring the alternate emergency phone lines but will continue to monitor the Sheriff’s Office non-emergency numbers at 434-589-8211 and 434-589-8212.
Officials advise that if any issues persist when dialing 911, residents should immediately contact the Sheriff’s Office through one of the non-emergency numbers.
The outage began around 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, affecting landline calls to 911 and non-emergency lines, while wireless calls and texts to 911 remained operational. The Fluvanna County Sheriff’s Office thanked the community for its patience and assistance in spreading awareness during the outage.
