CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – One of Unite the Right’s organizers who has run for President and once for the U.S. Senate in Florida, Augustus Sol Invictus, has been sentenced in Albemarle Circuit Court to 9-and-a-half months in jail and 2-years supervised probation. This Wednesday after a jury in October convicted the Orlando attorney of using a burning object on public property with intent to intimidate. The Daily Progress reports the defense argued Invictus — whose born name is Austin Gillespie — was prosecuted for his political beliefs. But Judge Richard Moore said the torchlight marchers Invictus led that night marched to the Rotunda and surrounded counter protestors and UVA students with intent to intimidate… which meets the definition of assault without battery.
