Ulla Mathilda (Karlsson) Chunn , 94, of Charlottesville Va., passed away peacefully on November 10, 2024.

Born in Nykoping , Sweden in 1930, Ulla had a desire to explore the world from a young age. She embarked on her career as a flight attendant with Pan American Airlines, which brought her to the states.  It was through this work that she met the love of her life, James Chunn, the handsome pilot who stole her heart. Ulla and Jimmy were passionate about aviation and owned Gordonsville airport. They also enjoyed the rancher’s lifestyle for many years in Texas. Ulla traveled  often with Jimmy and her dearest friends; always finding a fun adventure and a beautiful vineyard. She attributed her daily glass of wine to her longevity. Ulla was a patron of the opera and the symphony. She was an avid reader of mystery novels, worked on her crossword puzzles and loved a game of bridge with friends.

Ulla will be most fondly remembered for her quick wit, brilliant sense of humor and incredible sense of style. She had a kind heart and loved animals, especially her cats Smokey, Morris and Annie.  Ulla is survived by her Goddaughter, Alison Jackson (Oceanside, Calif.), and her dear friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Jimmy and her parents Karl Valdemar Karlsson and Klara Jonsson Karlsson.

In Lieu of flowers, donations to the Charlottesville, Albermarle SPCA would be appreciated. It is a charity that was dear to Ulla.
