STAUNTON, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Two people are dead in a Tuesday morning tractor-trailer crash on I-64 east of Staunton. State Police say a tractor-trailer was eastbound on 64 from I-81 at milemarker 89 around 6:20 Tuesday morning when the driver initially veered left. The driver then overcorrected and ran off the right side of the road, smashing through a guardrail, hitting some trees, then the rig turned over on its side. Both the driver and a passenger died at the scene. Identification is pending, and the cause of the crash is under investigation.
