CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – For the first time in over a decade, the President is visiting Charlottesville.

Pres. Donald Trump will be in Charlottesville on Friday for a 6:30 p.m. MAGA Inc. meeting and a 7:15 p.m. MAGA Inc. dinner roundtable, the White House announced Thursday. It did not announce a location for either event.

Trump will be the first sitting president to visit Charlottesville since Barack Obama came in 2014, accompanying French President François Hollande. On Feb. 10, 2014, the two toured Monticello, the home of Thomas Jefferson, America’s third president.

Trump’s visit became a hot rumor Wednesday when the Federal Aviation Administration announced a temporary flight restriction for the area.

The restriction, scheduled from 5:15 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. Friday, was due to “VIP movement,” per the FAA.

The FAA site listed the restriction as being placed under Title 14 CFR section 91.141. That code states, “No person may operate an aircraft over or in the vicinity of any area to be visited or traveled by the President, the Vice President, or other public figures contrary to the restrictions established by the Administrator and published in a Notice to Airmen.”

The Trump family acquired a 1,300-acre Albemarle County winery – then known as Kluge – in 2011. Now Trump Winery, it is owned and managed by the President’s son, Eric.
