NEW YORK, NY (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Former President Donald Trump on Truth Social this (Tuesday) morning made a formal endorsement of John McGuire over incumbent and House Freedom Caucus chair Bob Good in the 5th District Republican primary. McGuire entered the race as the true Trump loyalist after Good endorsed Ron DeSantis for President, and has appeared with Trump at some rallies. He and Good both made trips to New York City on the same day to support Trump in his hush money trial. Trump’s senior campaign advisor… long-time Virginia Republican operative… Chris LaCivita had pledged to make Good “unelectable”.

However, until this (Tuesday) morning, there had been no formal endorsement from Trump himself. In his message, Trump called Good “bad for Virginia, bad for the USA”, and called Good’s endorsement of Trump after DeSantis suspended his campaign “too late”.
