WOODRIDGE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Albemarle County’s Fire Marshal is investigating a fatal fire that occurred early Friday morning near Woodridge. Firefighters responded shortly after 4:30 a.m. to a report of a structure fire in the 4000 block of Jacobs Creek Drive and arrived approximately 20 minutes later to find a single-wide trailer fully engulfed in flames. The fire had also spread to a nearby vehicle.

Albemarle Fire officials confirmed that one resident was home at the time and suffered fatal injuries. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. While the cause of the fire remains under investigation, authorities do not believe it to be suspicious. The identity of the victim is being withheld pending family notification.
