CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – The Charlottesville Tom Sox (3-1) avenged their season-opening loss to the Staunton Braves (3-2) with a 10-0 victory on Thursday night.

The game featured a strong performance from the Tom Sox pitching staff, who combined for a one-hitter and their first shutout of the season.

Pitcher Hutson Trobaugh (Old Dominion) led the charge, striking out eight batters over four innings.

Charlottesville’s offense broke through in the third inning with a two-RBI double from Robbie Lavey (George Washington), followed by a four-run fourth inning.

James Taussig (UTSA) scored in the seventh, and pinch hitter Landon Bruce (San Jacinto) drove in the final run in the eighth to secure the win.

HIGHLIGHTS:
