Charlottesville, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – In an interview with WINA Morning News, Virginia Senator Tim Kaine addressed key issues currently facing the Senate, his reelection campaign, and ongoing concerns in Virginia. Kaine emphasized the looming deadline for government funding: “We don’t have the short-term deal yet, but I’m quite confident we will have it by the end of next week.”

Kaine also touched on bipartisan legislation aimed at addressing the rising costs of childcare, noting that “we might really be able to expand the supply of high-quality care and enable parents to better afford it,” if proposed tax advantages for parents and employers are passed.

The senator assured listeners that he and his colleague, Senator Mark Warner, remain focused on improving the mail service in the Charlottesville area after past disruptions. “The on-time delivery percentage is going up, but we’re not there yet,” Kaine said, reaffirming his commitment to solving the issue.
