CHARLOTTESVILLE (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Three men have been arrested and charged in October shootings at Rio Hills Apartments in Albemarle County in which 23-year-old Zerrion Eubanks-Warfield of Charlottesville died, and another person was injured. 19-year-old Raymond Carter Jr. and 24-year-old Darnell Morris Jr. of Charlottesville and 20-year-old Kaveigh Palmer of Richmond faces seven charges each including aggravated malicious wounding as well as gang activity. Albemarle Police and Fire Rescue were sent to the Rio Hill Apartments following reports of gunshots and possible injuries on October 19.
The exact charges are:

  • Aggravated malicious wounding (§18.2-51.2a)
  • Shooting with intent to maim or kill by mob (§18.2-41)
  • Gang activity (§18.2-46.2)
  • Two counts of conspiracy to commit a felony (§18.2-22)
  • Two counts of use of a firearm in commission of a felony (§18..2-53.1)
