Theodore McNeil “Ted” Thomas, Jr. entered his eternal rest on February 7, 2024 in Richmond, Virginia at 71. He was born on June 12, 1952 in Charlottesville, Virginia to Theodore McNeil Thomas and Marjorie Gohanna Thomas.

Ted is survived by his father, Theodore McNeil Thomas, Sr.; his mother, Marjorie Gohanna Thomas; his daughter, Katina Scott Gatewood (Stanley) and his son, Miguel A. Carey; his grandchildren Michael Cook, Jr., Darius Clark and Dacarai Clark; and his great-grandchildren Egypt, Alexandria and Faith. He is also survived by his brother Gregory Thomas (Catherine) of Charlottesville, Virginia, his sister Gwendolyn Thomas Jackson (Donald) of Charlottesville, Virginia, and his brother Michael Thomas of Ruckersville, Virginia, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.

Ted attended Albemarle High School and later traveled worldwide as he served in the United States Army Air Defense Artillery Operations as an Intelligence Assistant. He eventually returned home to care for his parents. He was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church where he sang in the Gospel Ensemble. Ted is remembered for his musical talent, particularly his trumpet playing, his love for dancing and the Dallas Cowboys. He will be greatly missed by all those whose lives he touched.
