CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW): After a thrilling regular season in the 2024 Tonsler League, it could only end with one more edition of Rivalry Week.  Rivalry week is scheduled based on teams that have played contentious games in the past, and squads that match up well on paper with talents on their roster.  With this in mind, here are  the best matchups of Rivalry Week’s final edition of 2024 (according to us).  Coincidentally, every game is set for a Sunday tip off.

Splikak vs BTA Elite (Sunday 7/28 at 5pm): Splikak is on the second-longest win streak of the season by any team except for the 7-0 Elite Company.  They look to win their sixth game in a row against BTA Elite, looking to salvage something from this season, with a current record of 1-6.  However, BTA can play Spoiler for Team Lake if they pull off the upset, clearing the way for Takeover to take the 2nd seed in the standings going into the playoffs.

Takeover vs Team Lake (Sunday 7/28 at 8pm): This is the battle for the presumed 2nd seed going into the playoffs. Lake enters this contest in excellent form, fresh off a commanding victory over Ballyworld.  Takeover has more work to do and will only take 2nd if BTA Elite knocks off Splikak.  Despite that, their confidence coming off a 42-point blowout of U-Train the day before yesterday evening may give them the edge despite the hill they have to climb.

Supreme Skillz vs Elite Company (Sunday 7/28 at 7pm): 2024’s hottest team looks to finish off a perfect season and take the number one seed in the playoffs against the only remaining original team from the league’s BCBA days, the drama writes itself.  Supreme has dropped three games this year.  One to start the year against Ballyworld, the second, two weeks ago against Outkast by only 3 points, and the last, to Elite Company in the final of the first ever Tonsler League in-season tournament at the John Paul Jones Arena.  It promises to be the game of the week, possibly the season, and could easily be the last game of the playoffs if the action plays out a certain way.

Head down to Tonsler Park tonight beginning at 6pm, and this Sunday beginning at 5pm, to watch these all the action of the final week in the Tonsler League’s regular season!
