CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW)- It was another successful community initiative between the Charlottesville Radio Group and the American Red Cross.  According to Donor Accounts Manager Terry Atwater, there were 251 donors, and the American Red Cross collected a total of 244 successful units.  Atwater commented “We had a fantastic day at the Broadcasters for Blood drive.  Thanks for your kind support and for making the event successful and fun.”

Donor account Manager Alexis Innis and District Manager Roger Gardner joined the WINA Morning News to talk about the importance of donating and revealed that if every eligible person donated once per year, there would never be a blood shortage. Innis stressed that consistent donations are essential to maintaining an adequate blood supply, as blood is perishable and often used within days of donation.

The event highlighted the importance of regular blood donations and aimed to make it a priority for more people. With only 3% of eligible donors currently giving blood, the Red Cross hopes to see a significant increase in participation to prevent future shortages.
