CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Nathaniel Jeremiah Yount Jr., a 19-year-old Albemarle County man, has been charged in the shooting that occurred at a roving party in November in Barboursville, the Greene County Sheriff’s Office announced Wednesday.
Yount has been charged with two felonies – one count of reckless handling of a firearm resulting in serious injury and one count of unlawfully shooting a victim in the commission of a felony.
Yount was arrested Tuesday in Fluvanna County and is currently being held, without bond, at the Central Virginia Regional Jail.
On Nov. 27, the Greene County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of shots being fired at a large party on Toms Road. They found one shooting victim who was transported to a local hospital in stable condition.
“Deputies arrived to find over one hundred individuals fleeing the scene,” the sheriff’s office announced at the time. “Multiple spent shell casings from several different caliber guns were located and it was obvious that a fight had occurred. Most individuals fled when law enforcement arrived on scene.”
