CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – James Robert Allen pled guilty to the October 4, 2023, abduction and malicious wounding of a UVA student in Charlottesville Circuit Court on Tuesday, April 23, 2024.
The 41-year-old Suffolk man grabbed and strangled “ES” in the vicinity of Rugby Road. He then forced her into his truck and told her he was going to kill her, according to the Charlottesville Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office.
He soon crashed along Cabell Avenue and the victim was able to escape, duct-taped and with blood on her body.
She was taken to UVA Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
Allen fled and was arrested the next day in Louisa County.
Allen faces up to thirty years in prison.
His sentencing is set for August 27th.
