CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – One person was shot after a roving party with over 100 attendees erupted in gunfire early Thursday morning on Toms Road in Barboursville, according to a release from the Greene County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office received a report of shots fired at a large gathering and “arrived to find over 100 individuals fleeing the scene,” according to the release.

Deputies found shell casings several different caliber firearms and other evidence that a fight had occurred.

“It was learned that this was a roving party that pops up at various locations across several counties,” the release said.

The one known gunshot victim is in stable condition at a local hospital.
