CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – A man and a woman were shot early Friday morning, suffering non-life threatening injuries, according to a release from the Charlottesville Police Department.
CPD located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound after responding to a report of a shooting in the 100 block of Old Preston Ave. at approximately 1:49 a.m. That victim was transported to the University of Virginia Medical Center.
A short time later, while officers were still at the hospital, a second victim, an adult female, drove herself there also with a gunshot wound, according to the release.
“At this time, the incident does not appear to be random and is believed to have occurred during a larger altercation,” the CPD release stated.
