CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal will be in Charlottesville on Aug. 29, performing a free concert exclusively for University of Virginia students prior to the season-opening football game against North Carolina State, UVA announced.

O’Neal, whose stage name is “DJ Diesel,” will be performing on the green space at the base of Observatory Hill at 1 p.m., following the ACC Huddle television broadcast, which will take place from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Students will need a game ticket for the N.C. State game to attend the concert. UVA will announced further details next week.

O’Neal, who retired from the NBA in 2011, has been performing globally as a DJ since 2015.
