CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Multiple people were injured in a shooting incident near the entrance to 5th St. Station early Thursday morning, according to a Charlottesville Police Department social media post.

Just before 3 a.m., CPD announced that it had responded to a report of gunshots in the area of 5th St. SW and 5th St. Station Parkway, and found “several individuals have been injured.”

CPD said the public should expect a large police presence in the area.
