Charlottesville, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Senator John McGuire, a Virginia state senator and former Navy SEAL, is making waves as he campaigns for the U.S. House of Representatives seat in Virginia’s 5th District. During an interview with WINA, McGuire expressed enthusiasm for the final days leading up to the election, saying, “I’m fired up… We’ve got a country to save.” He highlighted his grassroots approach and commitment to engaging voters across the district, mentioning early voting turnout as an indicator of strong voter interest. “People are excited,” he shared, emphasizing the importance of mobilizing supporters to get out the vote. 

Throughout his campaign, McGuire has emphasized economic concerns, pointing to rising inflation and high interest rates as central issues impacting Virginians. He discussed his support for tax cuts and measures to incentivize business growth, noting, “We’ve got to lower tax, incentivize people to bring their businesses back to the United States.” McGuire also addressed pressing topics such as immigration and border security, calling for policies that prioritize the safety and stability of local communities. His experience in the Virginia General Assembly has shaped his bipartisan approach, and he pledged to bring this focus on unity and effectiveness to Washington DC. 

This weekend, McGuire will join former President Trump as a speaker at a rally in Salem, Virginia. He views this opportunity as a chance to further connect with his base and energize last-minute voter turnout. The rally, scheduled for Saturday, is expected to draw significant attention as McGuire closes out his campaign with a call for unity and patriotism, affirming his dedication to “serve everyone in the 5th District.”
