BALTIMORE, MD (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – The Virginia Men’s Lacrosse team trailed 4-0 early in the NCAA quarterfinal against arch rival Johns Hopkins. The Hoos gave up four goals on the first four shots from Hopkins. Then UVA Head Coach Lars Tiffany made a change in goal and the Cavaliers began to claw their way back into the game trailing 7-5 at the half. Eventually the Wahoos and Blue Jays would go back and fourth late into the fourth quarter when the game was tied at 10. Then in double overtime, Connor Schellenberger attacked up the right pipe then reverse pivoted and fired the shot that sent UVA to another championship weekend and the Hoos won it 11-10. They will now face Maryland in the national semifinals on Saturday in Philadelphia and WINA will carry the game live.
