CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – The Salvation Army invites the community to its Thanksgiving meal November 28 at its Ridge Street headquarters. Development Director Jim Battaglia says it’s from noon-to-1:30 at the campus gymnasium and everyone’s invited and they’re expecting about 300 people.

He says one of the things they need from the community… every year they’re short on hams. And, sure enough, this year they have 35 turkeys being donated, the sides and fixins’ also taken care of, and Albemarle Baking is donating a bunch of pies… but they need about 25 hams. Also at this dinner every year, they take donations of warm hats and gloves which you can drop off at 207 Ridge Street now… or at the dinner. Click here or call 434-295-4058 with any questions.
