RUCKERSVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – The Greene County Department of Water & Sewer, in concert with the Virginia Department of Health, has as of this (Monday) morning lifted the “boil water advisory” for portions of Ruckersville issued Friday. Greene County Water & Sewer says “as expected, both samples came back negative for any bacteria, so we are lifting the precautionary boil water notice effective immediately”. The advisory was issued after a broken water main and loss of water pressure to some homes off Spring Hill Road.
After repairs were made, a series of water samples were collected and sent to a state certified lab. All the samples taken Friday and Saturday were absent of both total coliform and e. coli bacteria. Residents can resume using household water as normal. Anyone who needs more information is urged to call the Greene County Department of Water & Sewer at 434-985-1348.
