It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Walker Bunch, 85, on November 15th, 2024 at his home in Scottsville, VA. Bob was born on April 12th, 1939 in Bryn Mawr, PA to Elizabeth and Gordon Bunch.
While a PA native, Bob spent the last 45 years of his life in Virginia, amassing a lot of good friends along the way. He spent much of his life in auto-body restoration, but also enjoyed mechanical work. Whether overhauling an engine, rebuilding a chassis, or body repair and painting, Bob loved his work. He was a true craftsman who was able to create anything with his hands. If you gave him an example, a photo, or an idea of what you wanted, Bob could build it. He designed and built his home of 30 years with his own hands, and it was the site of many fun-filled family reunions. He enjoyed attending bluegrass festivals and local lodge dances, browsing home improvement stores, poring over Auto Trader magazines– and throwing a frisbee for his “best girl”.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife Beverly of 29 years; his dog/”best girl” Katie of 15 years; his brother John (Faye) Bunch and his sister Mildred; his children Jenifer Bunch, Michell Capodanno, Stephanie McNeil and Michael (Debra) Bunch; stepchildren Pam (Dave) Scott and Jacque (Matt) Villei; 10 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and other loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by both parents; his sisters Catherine, Helen, Marie, and Ruby; and his daughter Heather Harris.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to Caring for Creatures (Palmyra, VA), your local SPCA or human society, or a pet rescue or shelter of your choice.
