ROANOKE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Roanoke-based The AWARE Foundation has joined forces with America’s Watch in their efforts to locate missing persons.
The AWARE Foundation founder Kenny Jarels says this combines their own nationwide data and reach with America’s Watch geolocation… where they have very localized Amber Alert information mapped around your registered phone number location. Jarels said America’s Watch reaches out to AWARE, and he says this partnership will help get the word out “to hopefully bring these people home quicker”.

The AWARE Foundation distributes information about all missing persons, regardless of the circumstances, when families and law enforcement reaches out. In some cases, they’ll issue the alert when law enforcement does not. Jarels says America’s Watch currently just puts out geomapping for Amber Alerts, but he intends for this partnership to help extend the mapping to other Silver or Missing Endangered Juvenile and Adult alerts. Jarels says they’re excited about this partnership which will bring an even greater impact in our communities.
