CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW): Just as one construction project ends on Hydraulic Road in Charlottesville, another is set to begin tonight, August 14, 2024.  

VDOT crews are constructing directional medians at two intersections on Hydraulic, one at Michie Drive, and the other at Brandywine Drive.  

Hydraulic Road’s westbound right lane will be closed between U.S. 250 and Michie Drive.  

VDOT says drivers should stay alert for workers near the travel lanes, reduce speed through the work zone and obey all traffic controls.

Anyone looking to make a left turn at Brandywine Drive or Michie Drive will need to turn right onto Hydraulic Road and then use the new roundabout at Hillsdale Drive to perform a U-turn.  

As of right now there is no scheduled end date for this project.
