Richard (Dick/Kick) Gooch Jr. of Charlottesville, VA passed away at home on December 2, 2024.

Survived by his Wife of 49 years, Marlene; Son Mat and his wife, Erin; Daughter Valerie; and five grandchildren: Peyton, Wyatt, Leila, Brett and Colt.

Also survived by his sister Melissa; brother Alan; along with numerous nieces and nephews and many good friends. His pets Ellie, Ozzy and Piper provided him much love and companionship.

Dick loved his family with all his heart and was so very proud of his children and grandchildren. He worked hard for many years to make sure his family had everything they needed.

He loved to fish and spent many hours doing just that with his fishing buddies, and took his grandchildren every chance he got.

He also loved playing pickleball and did so up until his health would no longer allow it.

Dick battled Parkinson’s Disease for many years, with other numerous health battles along the way. He fought it all with fierce strength and determination until his body just became too tired.

He will be missed so very much by his family, who love him beyond measure. Rest in Peace.
