ALBEMARLE COUNTY, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – A fire broke out in a home on the 3300 block of Martin Kings Road on Saturday, August 10 around 6:57 p.m.

Albemarle County Fire Rescue career and volunteer crews reported arriving to find smoke coming from the garage and laundry room areas. Firefighters had the fire under control within 11 minutes, and no one was hurt.

The fire displaced two adults and three dogs, who are receiving help from the American Red Cross.

The Albemarle County Fire Marshal’s Office is looking into the cause, which is believed to be accidental. Damage from the fire is estimated at $75,000.

Fire officials remind everyone to keep flammable items like boxes, cleaning supplies, and clothing away from appliances.
