CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Police are investigating reports of shots fired near Three Notch’d Brewery on Monday evening, sparking panic in the area. Witnesses at the scene described people running from the area, with reports indicating the shots may have come from an apartment complex across the street.

According to early reports, two suspects were seen fleeing towards abandoned apartments nearby, dressed in hoodies and facemasks. Charlottesville Police responded and were investigating with Avon Street and Monticello Avenue blocked off to traffic as of 7:30pm.

No official word on injuries or arrests has been confirmed. Police are asking the public to avoid the area as they continue their investigation.
