CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLERIGHTNOW) – Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) will present two installments of its “One Mic Stand” spoken word open mic series on Thursday, February 13, and Thursday, April 10, at 7 p.m. Both events will take place in the Maxwell Black Box Theatre, located in the V. Earl Dickinson Building on PVCC’s main campus. Admission is free and open to the public.

Hosted by Ty Cooper, a filmmaker and founder of the “United Nations of Comedy Tour,” the series provides a platform for storytelling, poetry, satire, comedy, and other spoken word performances in a welcoming atmosphere. Performers of all experience levels are invited to participate by signing up at the PVCC Box Office starting at 6 p.m. on the day of the event.
